Jordan Wise is the Director of OJC’s Fitness Center. As Director she supervises work studies, makes equipment purchases and maintains equipment, supervises and instructs multiple PED (Physical Education) classes, and provides training and nutritional guidance. Wise handles Fitness Center related events, such as tournaments and competitions for students, staff/faculty, and the community. She is also the point of contact for scheduling at the Fitness Center and Auxiliary Gym. In addition to managing the Fitness Center and its related events, Jordan runs the strength and conditioning programs for the athletic department, designing and implementing training programs for the different sports teams.
Wise grew up in Ordway, CO and attended Crowley County High School. She then attended Lamar Community College, playing volleyball in 2013 and graduated from Otero in 2014. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Health Education from Grand Canyon University in December of 2016. She also received a Performance Enhancement Specialist certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2016 and a Kickboxing certification from the American Council on Exercise in 2018.
Jordan is a devout Christian, enjoying worship and spending time with family and friends. She also spends her spare time weightlifting and watching sports and comedies. Jordan aspires to build an optimal environment, within the OJC Fitness Center where the students, staff, faculty, and community members feel welcome and motivated to achieve their goals. Incorporating new fitness classes and expanding current classes has been a recent goal. She is also working to provide effective training programs for our athletic teams to enhance their overall athleticism and aid in injury prevention. Jordan states, “All of the goals I have for myself and OJC are constructed around better serving the OJC community.”
