Baseball

Drew served as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Otero for the 2017 through 2020 fall seasons. Drew was named the Interim Head Coach when Chris Carrillo’s transition from Head Baseball Coach to Athletic Director in the spring of 2020 and was named the Head Coach that following summer.  Drew is an alumni of Otero Junior College receiving his Associate of Science in May 2012 as well as playing baseball for the Rattlers. He moved on to Adams State University where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics and Finance and finished out his college baseball career.

Drew was an Assistant Coach at Adams State University for three years before coming back to coach at Otero.  As Head Coach, Drew wants to help Otero student-athletes grow and mature athletically and academically, positioning them to accomplish the goals they wish to achieve.  Since taking over he has improved the team’s overall record each year and has made the region IX playoffs the last 3 years.  In the 2024 campaign, the Otero Rattlers were second in region IX with an overall record of (31-19) and he was named Empire Conference Coach of the year.  He is continuing to push his players to be men of leadership on and off the field.

In his spare time, Coach Wold enjoys spending time with his wife, Hailey, and their three daughters, Graylin (8), Emma (5) and Ellie (1). He enjoys being outdoors and hunting deer, elk, and waterfowl. He also looks forward to time spent with his family and friends on his family ranch in southwestern Nebraska.
