Otero College has officially announced the appointment of Tim Bowlen as the new Head Men's Basketball Coach for the Rattlers. Bowlen returns to Otero after three seasons as an assistant coach at division two program Eastern New Mexico University from 2021-2025, around a previous stint at Otero as the assistant coach in the 2023-24 season.

Prior to the four seasons at Otero and ENMU, Bowlen touts experience from multiple division one programs with stops at UCLA and IUPUI. In his statement, Coach Bowlen expressed his enthusiasm about rejoining the Rattlers: "I'm blessed to be able to return to Otero and be entrusted to lead the men's basketball program. I understand the tradition and expectations that Otero has, and I'm committed to work towards continued success on and off the court."

Bowlen's tenure starts with an opening game on Halloween night, as the Rattlers start the 2025-26 season at home on October 31st in McDivitt Gym.
