In a thrilling showdown at CSU Pueblo, the Otero College Rattlers triumphed over Northwest College in the Region 9 Final - Northwest Plains District Championship, culminating in a decisive 4-1 victory on November 2, 2025.

The match kicked off with both teams displaying strong defenses, but it was Otero College's Hector Pena who broke the deadlock in the 37th minute with a remarkable goal assisted by Jayden Bennett, giving the Rattlers a 1-0 lead at halftime. The second half saw increased intensity with Otero's Prince-Ivan Nginyu dominating the field. Nginyu scored two rapid goals in the 62nd and 63rd minutes, turning the tide definitively in favor of Otero College. His efforts were bolstered by assists from Soju Sekiguchi and Renan Oliveira, respectively.

Northwest College attempted a comeback with Jack Kuspert netting a goal in the 73rd minute, assisted by Jake Coltart. However, the Rattlers' defense, led by goalie Ivan Dorado Madera who made five critical saves throughout the match, kept their opponents at bay. Manuel Ronaldo Mena solidified the Rattlers' victory with a final goal in the 90th minute, assisted by Dorado Madera himself. Prince-Ivan Nginyu was deservedly named Man of the Match for his stellar performance.

Looking forward, the Otero College Rattlers, holding a strong season record of 12-4-1, are set to compete next on November 16, 2025, at Daytona Florida against #2 Iowa Western following #7 Mohave College at 10 am. With their recent victory, the Rattlers continue their quest for further success in the national tournament.
