Series Sweep Against Lamar

The Rattlers earned a sweep in their recent series against Lamar Community College. For the 4-game series, Otero College dominated the Lopes, winning all four games improving their conference record to 7-1.

The first two games Otero hosted at home where they set the tone for the series, securing mercy rule victories with scores of 9-1 and 11-2. During these two games, Mariah Johnson, Elysa Gamez, and Whitney Boone all had home runs. Whitney Boone accomplished a standout performance by hitting a home run, triple, double, and single batting for the cycle across the first two games. Additionally, Region 9 player of the week the for the previous week, pitcher Destiny Martinez, also obtained her 100th strikeout on the season in game 1 against Lamar.

The action continued favorably for Otero College when the series moved to Lamar CC, where they won 11-3 and 2-0 to finish the series. The series concluded with Keira Gray throwing a no hitter in the final game of the series. Gray's impressive outing for the weekend included 13 innings pitched, striking out 15 Lamar Lopes, and only giving up 4 hits and 2 runs.

The Otero College Rattlers are scheduled to face Western Nebraska Community College on March 29th and 30th in Scottsbluff Nebraska.
