Rattler Women's Basketball Moves on Five
FIVE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYERS SIGN WITH FOUR-YEAR INSTITUTIONS
LA JUNTA, CO — Otero College Athletics is thrilled to announce that five exceptional members of the Women's Basketball program have officially signed to continue their athletic and academic careers at four-year institutions. Sophomores Itxasne Fernandez Arguello, Dayshanay Bruner, Kaelani Albert-Neha, and Candela Roy Ibaibarriaga, and freshman Brooklyn Kaiser have all solidified commitments to programs across the NCAA and NAIA levels.
Itxasne Fernandez Arguello from Castro-Urdiales, Cantabria, Spain has officially committed to Eastern Illinois University, an NCAA Division I program competing in the Ohio Valley Conference. The versatile forward from Spain brings high-level court vision and international experience to the Panthers.
Dayshanay Bruner from Colorado Springs, CO moving on to NAIA powerhouse University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. A dominant Colorado product, Bruner's athleticism and presence in the paint will be a major asset for the Drovers.
Kaelani Albert-Neha from Hamilton, New Zealand has signed with Emporia State University, a prestigious NCAA Division II program in Kansas. The dynamic guard from New Zealand brings elite playmaking ability and perimeter defense to the Lady Hornets.
Candela Roy Ibaibarriaga from La Muela, Zaragoza, Spain has committed to Drury University, a perennial NCAA Division II powerhouse in Missouri. A sharp-shooting guard, Roy Ibaibarriaga's high basketball IQ and scoring ability make her an exciting addition to the Lady Panthers.
Brooklyn Kaiser, also from Colorado Springs, CO, is staying home to join NCAA Division II program Adams State University. As a tough combo-guard who can shoot the lights out, Brooklyn will make an immediate impact for the Grizzlies who are one of the top women's basketball programs in the RMAC.
"To have five student-athletes move on to such respected four-year universities speaks volumes about their dedication, character, and the tireless work they put into this program," said Athletic Director, Kyle Spencer. "They have set a phenomenal example for future Rattlers, proving that you can get anywhere in the country—and any level of college basketball—from right here in La Junta."
